The beginning of May is a busy time in terms of public holidays. The Orthodox Easter Sunday falls on 5th May this year. The following is a list of the Public Holidays:
- Wednesday 1st May Labour Day
- Friday 3rd May Orthodox Holy (Good) Friday
- Monday 6th May Orthodox Easter Monday
- Tuesday 7th May Easter Bank Holiday
Banks and many Government Departments will be closed on those dates and shops and supermarkets will be closed on Easter Sunday and either closed or with shorter opening hours on the other Public Holidays. Pharmacy opening hours will also be affected with most closed on May 1st, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
For example, Lidl has told us their hours over this period will be as follows:
Wednesday 01/05: All stores will be closed, except Lidl of Ormidia & Kokkinotrimithia
Thursday 02/05: 07:00 – 21:00
Holy Friday 03/05: 07:00 – 18:00 –
Holy Saturday 04/05: 07:00 – 18:00
Easter Sunday & Monday 05/05 – 06/05: All stores will be closed
