On Saturday afternoon a number of cats and dogs died as the result of poison that had been placed in Teacher’s Square in Maroni.
It is not clear at present whether this was an isolated incident, or whether there might be other areas where poison has been placed. It is therefore advised that pet owners take especial care not to let their pets wander around the village and even when out with pets, not to allow them to eat anything that is left around.
