The following is taken from the Maroni News in 2006, marking the beginning of the Maroni Art Group, which today celebrates its 18th anniversary.
During those 18 years the Maroni Art Group has held several exhibitions at various locations around the village. They have held a number of workshops on a variety of art forms, entertained guest artists and visited a variety of locations for painting inspiration in an assortment of mediums from oil painting to melted wax.
Members are of all levels of ability and help to inspire one another, creating an interesting and friendly atmosphere, which is apparent in the coffee breaks and regular lunch sessions at Spyros and Maria’s Piazza Maroni.
Any one of any ability or experience can join in; simply turn up at the Piazza Square on a Tuesday morning and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome
