The Department of Road Transport (DRT) has published information concerning the renewal of vehicle licences (road tax) for 2024, It is important to note that they do not issue a reminder for when individual vehicles are to be renewed.
Renewals can be made from Thursday, 4th January and the last date for renewal is Monday 11th March at midnight (renewals after that date are subject to additional charges).
As normal, licences can be renewed for three, six, nine or twelve months.
Renewals require a certificate of roadworthiness (MOT) and evidence of insurance.
Renewals can be made at Citizen Service Centers, District Post Offices, District Offices of the DRT or online.
Regarding online payments, it is no longer possible to do this via JCC. Instead, the DRT directs you to the website rtd.mcw.gov.cy (if the web page comes up in Greek, look for the flag next to the bus icon for English).
