The square behind St George church in Maroni was officially opened yesterday. The Square has been named Tasos Mitsopoulos in honour of the late Minister.
The square was blessed by the local priest and speeches were given by local and district officials.
A buffet, drinks and entertainment was provided for locals celebrating the occasion.
