The Cyprus Government is due to carry out a census from 1st October until December 2021. The last census was carried out ten years ago in 2011.
The collection of data during the census will be carried out through personal interviews by about 1.000 specially trained enumerators, using tablets. All enumerators will wear a special yellow vest with the Census logo, will carry a black bag with the logo and a badge with the special ID of the Service, which will certify the authorization given to them under the legislation to collect information. All respondents are required to provide accurate information to the enumerators and all data collected is subject to strict rules regarding confidentiality.
Due to Covid safety regulations the enumerators will not enter households, but will conduct interviews in an outdoor space. There is also the possibility of conducting interviews by phone.
