Although the situation remains flexible, there is still a strong possibility that there will be a hard Brexit on 31st October 2019. There will be many changes if this happens. Some will be obvious, whilst others may not be immediately known.

It is possible that the rules for travel to an EU country will require that a passport must have six months to run on entry into the country in question. An added complication is that until recently UK passports renewed well in advance of the expiry date would have the additional time added to the new expiry date. this ‘extra’ time may not be recognised.
The service on the Gov.uk website allows users to check if their passport would be valid to travel to a list of European countries and regions such as the Azores and Madeira.
The UK government website has full information on the situation as it is understood at present, and can tell if a passport will be acceptable. The site is available at: https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/check-a-passport

Remember this may apply to you, if you take a break in another EU country, or to family members visiting you here in Cyprus.
