The second day of our Art Group Workshop with Jane Corner proved even more informative and challenging than the first but it was very enlightening for us to see how we had all managed to create the beginning of our Seascape pictures from those intimidating blank white canvasses of Day 1!
Once again – and still using our limited colour palette from Day 1 – Jane showed us how to mix the colours necessary to enhance the Sky, Sea, Beach and Waves. Jane made adding waves to the sea and shoreline seem so easy when she demonstrated the technique – see the photographs of Jane in action.

However, we all found it harder to achieve the desired effect when ‘let loose’ on our own paintings! More practise is definitely necessary in this area but it was a very useful lesson for us all. See below some of the finished paintings we produced as a result of our workshop.

Thank you Jane for giving us such an enjoyable two days and for opening our eyes to a totally different way of applying paint to canvas with some exciting results. We are all now inspired to use these new techniques in our future paintings – no more blank canvasses we hope!
The Art Group are now taking a Summer break and will return on the 10th September to our regular Tuesday morning meetings in Clubhouse Square Maroni.
